When loss becomes a call for unity

When everything collapses in a single moment, all that remains is hope.

Narine’s family felt the consequences of war in the most devastating way. Her husband and his brother, returning from the battlefield, rushed to find fuel — a decision that cost them their lives. Hours later, a powerful explosion shook the area…

That explosion marked the beginning of an endless search for two women.

Narine, heavily pregnant and caring for her young child, joined her sister-in-law in searching for their husbands.

But the most painful part was the silence — there was no answer. What happened to them?

Months later, DNA tests confirmed the worst: both had died in the explosion…

Despite their grief, life continued. Narine gave birth to her second child, little Emilia, who was growing up in a temporary shelter. The family had to move into a new home that lacked even the most basic necessities for children — beds, mattresses, or storage.

This story sparked an outpouring of solidarity.

Thanks to the combined efforts of the IMAST community and the Hayordi Foundation, joy returned to Narine’s home after months of silence. In just a few days, $733 was raised — enough to buy furniture and essential supplies for the children.

Narine’s story reminds us that support is not just financial — it is the willingness to ease someone’s pain, the hope that brings the future back to life.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who believed, responded, and helped. Narine’s victory is a victory for us all.
